Casey “Moe” Moss began writing and hosting trivia in 2009 at an Irish bar in Costa Mesa, California.  At the time, trivia as we know it now was relatively new to the US– an import from across the pond – only being run at a handful of Irish and English pubs across town.  Desperate to have trivia at her “local”, she asked the bar owner if she could host trivia there for her friends and anyone else who wanted to play.  She did this for free, including all advertising, just so he would say yes.  The first trivia nights at the Irish bar were slow to get going but after a few months, it became increasingly popular.  When Moe moved from California and back to her hometown of Milwaukee, WI, the owner of the Irish bar hired another trivia company to keep it going.   She still feels he probably owes her some back pay.

It was two years later, in 2016, that Moe found another location to run trivia from.  Moran’s Pub in South Milwaukee hired her for special event trivia nights such as Halloween, Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day.  Later, after the pandemic, this turned into a weekly gig, quickly gaining momentum.  Moe has also provided trivia services to local non-profits such as the Cub Scouts, private events such as birthday parties and baby showers and sent quizzes to other locations out-of-state to increase business on otherwise quiet nights.  In 2023, Moran’s Pub, hosted by Moe’s Trivia, won Best Trivia Night in Milwaukee by the Shepherd Express.

Moe’s love for trivia runs strong, but don’t ask her to join your team as she is dreadful when she doesn’t already know all the answers.
